What we believe
Rooted in the Bible
These are the core beliefs of Epic Church at Linwood, based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of them.
"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us."
A.W. Tozer
Our core beliefs
Four truths we build on
The Bible is the Word of God
We believe the Bible is the inerrant, infallible Word of God. It is relevant for our world today and gives us the spiritual direction we need to live a life that pleases God.
"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness." 2 Timothy 3:16
Jesus is the Son of God
We believe Jesus was born of a virgin and walked this earth fully man, yet fully God. He was crucified for the sins of all humanity, buried, and on the third day He rose from the grave!
"Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" John 14:6
You must be born again
We live in a culture that believes there are many ways to God. At Epic, we believe there is only one way, and His name is Jesus! All are born into sin, and the only way to God is through the grace that only Jesus gives. Every person can be forgiven and born again.
"For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it." Matthew 16:25
Believers can and should be filled with the Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is the third member of the Trinity. Through His power, believers can live a life focused on Jesus. The Holy Spirit is our guide, comfort and strength, and a Spirit-filled life is shown by the fruit of the Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit found in Scripture.
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1:8
